Carry unlimited items in Oblivion: Remastered

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is one of the most iconic games in the world of RPGs. One of the things I don't really appreciate in RPG games is when it gives you a limited amount of items you can carry within your inventory or backpack.

Using a mod

If the commands below do not work, you can install a dedicated mod for the Remaster: Carry Weight Modifier.

On Xbox, you have to copy the folder to the following path:

C:\XboxGames\The Elder Scrolls IV- Oblivion Remastered\Content\OblivionRemastered\Content\Dev\ObvData\Data

On Steam, the path is a bit different:

C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Content\Dev\ObvData\Data

And then on both platforms you have add manually CarryWeightMod.esp to the Plugins.txt file which is available in the same folder.

Using commands (cheat codes)

Warning: these commands are being reported on several discussions for the Remaster, but multiple users are saying they do not work. Either this is a platform related issue, or the commands really do not work. You can try the solution above with the mod instead.

Open the console with the tilde key (~) and then type one of the following commands:

# Reported to be working:
SetGameSetting fActorStrengthEncumbranceMult 1000
player.forceav encumbrance 0

# Other possibilities:
player.forceav encumbrance -99999999
player.forceav carryweight 9999
player.setav carryweight 9999

The last one will increase the multiplier that determines how much strength corresponds to carry weight.

In general, these commands work for other Bethesda Games as well, for example Fallout 4 and Skyrim.

I did the first one "SetGameSetting fActorStrengthEncumbranceMult 1000" and then "player.forceav encumbrance 0" That's all i needed to do and it worked

I have updated the guide (again) following the feedback. Behavior seems to be different based on the platform you play on. For many it seems the commands to do not work, you can try the mod instead.

None of these work for the Remastered Version. First two say that "carryweight" is not a valid command and the third one just visually changes the number, but you'll still be overencumbered
