1st Circle of Magic

Book number 1:

  • It is given to you by Riordian as a reward for completing his quest "Learning runic magic"

Book number 2:

  • You can find it in the corpse of a Novice in the Slums, at the harbor of Archolos City. Be aware that four thugs will attack you.
  • You can also find it at the 2nd floor of the house of the Fire Mages, in the high quarters of Archolos, where you can meet Trimegisto.
  • There is a corpse near the Stone Golem between Silbach and the Wolf's Den, close to the coal mine. You can get the book there.

2nd Circle of Magic

Book number 1:

  • You can find it in a cave below the abandoned tower in the beach of "Sailor's Retreat". In the cave, on the right you can find Balni the fisherman, while on the left there is a closed door. To open it you'll need the key from Harold, another fisherman close to the beach. This way you can enter the graveyard where you can find a shrine of Innos, a corpse and three goblin skeletons.
  • Go outside the south-west gate of the city. Proceed towards the west, you will find a forest and you will encounter a bear and some forest scavengers. If you got the quest from the board, it is close to the "overgrown scavenger". There is a house, go inside and you will find a nest with some scavenger eggs. The book is on the floor there.
  • Another place is at the Heaven (Southern Marshes) on top of a tree between the tavern and the entrance to the camp. You will need the Telekinesis spell to get the book.

Book number 2:

  • At the city, inside the Water Mages temple, you can find the book on a shelf
  • At Volker's house in the city, at the upper floor, in a bookstand

Book number 3:

  • You can find it inside a house placed near a river with a lurker, between Silbach and Valerio's Vineyard as the crow flies.

3rd Circle of Magic

Book number 1:

  • It can be found in the Wolf's Den Fortress, inside a Silver Chest
  • Otherwise, always in the Wolf's Den, you can get it at the silver mine, first floor right after the entrance, in the corpse of a guard. To get access to the mine you will need the authorization from Ulryk.

Book number 2:

  • Near the woodcutters camp, on the east side, you will see a narrow with a small river and a couple of lurkers if you look below. Basically the river is "under the floor" and you can reach it by jumping down or going around. You will find the book there, where the two lurkers are.
  • South-west of Vardhal Ruins, there is a small graveyard in the forest, near some skeletons and a shadowbeast. There is a crypt, the book is inside the sarcophage.
  • At Volker's house in the city, at the upper floor, in a bookstand

Book number 3:

  • In the cursed swamp, there is a house surrounded by zombies. The 3rd book is there.
  • At the Old Town, in the house of the Astrologer, inside a chest
  • Another location is at South-West of the City, inside a sarcophagus placed in an abandoned cave with a teleport circle.

Book number 4:

  • At the Royal Mine, south-east of marker number 8 on the map, the book is on the floor, near an anvil

4th Circle of Magic

Book number 1:

  • You can find it at north-east of Vardhal Ruins. The place is hidden and you can reach it by swimming towards the west from Sailor's Retreat. Reach the hidden dock, there are skeletons and zombies, a mage skeleton and a skeleton shadowbeast. You will find a shrine of Beliar, and the book is in front of it.
  • You can also find it at the Vardhal Ruins. Get inside the ruins and past the gates, turn left: the book is on an alchemy desk.

Book number 2:

  • You can find it inside a crypt in the forest before Sailor's Retreat, to the west of Archolos City. There is a graveyard in the forest, you will find several zombies and skeletons. Inside the crypt there are six fallen paladins (knight skeletons) and a mage skeleton, so to get the book you will need a good equipment.
  • You can also find it at South-West of the city, inside a cave with a skeleton shadowbeast.

Book number 3:

  • This book can be found at the Water Mages Monastery, in the large courtyard. There is a mage, Rierol, in front of a door. Get past the door and look in the first bookstand on the right, you will find the book there.
  • You can get it also at east of the Vardhal Ruins, going up the stairs on a destroyed wall with a tower.

Book number 4:

  • In the sewers, upper level, the book is inside a golden chest (crate) in a room guarded by five bandits. You will need to be strong enough to reach the place because you will encounter frogmen, spiky alligators, bats and worms. You can reach the room by entering the sewers from outside of the city, or from the entrance to the sewers near Odgar.

Book number 5:

  • You can find it in the undergrounds guarded by Badulf, at the Water Mages Monastery, on a table.
