How to get a hammer in Gothic 1
To defeat Stone Golems you will need a hammer or a mace. Where to find them?

The mace can be bought from merchants like Fisk, Sharky and Daron. You can also acquire it by defeating some Novices in the Swamp Camp, or some Rouges and Mercenaries in the New Camp.
You might also want to buy the hammer, but you can even find it for free near the fortress where you collect the focal stone with Lester.
Before the bridge that takes you to the fortress, which is guarded by a Stone Golem, there is an area populated by some hounds. This zone is between the Old Camp and the Swamp Camp and is easily accessible.
After eliminating the hounds, you will find a small cavern where you can get a hammer that you can use to defeat the golem!
